Standard Poodle
"The Standard Poodle is proud, graceful, noble, good-natured, enjoyable and cheerful.  This highly intelligent dog is one of the most trainable breeds.  Some can be trained to hunt.  The Standard Poodle is generally lower energy and often calmer than the smaller varieties of Poodles, but will become high strung if you do not give it the proper amount and type of exercise.  It is sensitive to the tone of one's voice and will not listen if it senses that it is stronger minded than its owner, however it will also not respond well to harsh discipline.  Owners need to be calm, yet possess an air of natural authority.  They are not the type of dog to live outside in a kennel, as it enjoys being with its owners and dislikes being alone.  It is generally friendly toward strangers, and is excellent with children.  The Standard Poodle is good with other dogs."  www.dogbreedinfo.com
The Spangold Retriever is a cross between a Golden Retriever and an English Springer Spaniel.  They are a wonderful combination of two breeds that love both water and exercise.  Spangolds are smart and easy to train. They are happiest as part of the family and will want to be close to you, lying at your feet. They are fast runners and excellent swimmers.  Spangolds are gentle and wonderful with children.  They are accepting of other pets.  Spangolds must be exercised or they may take up negative behaviors such as digging or chewing out of boredom.  Spangolds are a well known breed in the United Kingdom, however they have started gaining popularity in North America within the past decade.  There is a Facebook site called 'Spangold Retrievers' where families globally feature their Spangolds as well as breeders who advertise their up coming litters.

A total social butterfly, is friends with everyone in the neighborhood.  He always wants to be with us or laying at our feet, and is happy going for a walk, playing with his bestie, or just chillin on his couch.  His favourite thing to do is swim and we have a hard time keeping him out of the water..." Wally

I truly believe our beautiful Baxter could very well have saved my life last week.  I had no shortness of breath.  Nothing I was just tired. Baxter alerted Vern to the fact that my oxygen was at 78 and I had a high fever.  My hear is just so full right now I just can't express enough my love for my family and of course our pup.
